Why ONE Blades Exists

For decades, ice figure skaters have tried to train inline and felt that something was wrong. They were right. The equipment was built around the wrong geometry.

Inline figure skating has not had equipment built for it, economics that reward the people growing it, or the infrastructure it deserves. ONE Blades was built to change all three.

The equipment problem

An ice blade has three balance zones. Toe pick area. Centre. Heel.

Three wheels create two balance zones. The centre wheel is a pivot, not a stable skating zone. The skater is either pitched forward onto the front wheels or back onto the rear wheel.

Four wheels create three balance zones. Front, centre, rear. The two centre wheels function as the centre of the blade.

Three wheels give two. Four wheels give three. Ice requires three. This is geometry, not opinion.

That missing centre is not a minor difference. It changes how edges feel, how turns flow, how spins centre, and how jumps land. The muscle memory an ice figure skater has built over years of training simply does not transfer to a frame that cannot hold the centre. Skaters who have tried inline figure skating and felt that something was off were usually right. The equipment was the problem, not their skating.

Most three wheel frames on the market today were not designed from first principles for what an ice figure skater needs when compared to an ice blade. The geometry does not match. That is why the skating does not match.

EDGE was built to solve this. Four wheels. EDGE is the only inline figure skating frame in the world with an adjustable rocker axle on every wheel, letting skaters adjust the rocker profile at any position. Dual durometer wheels designed specifically for figure skating surface contact: 82A outer and 85A inner for indoor, reversed for outdoor. Picks matched to ice, sized and angled for figure skating technique. Indoor and outdoor wheel sets included as standard. 2 sets of EDGE picks, 2 jam plugs, and a precision multi-tool in the box.

EDGE was designed by Adam Jukes, a skater with 35 plus years across ice, inline, pairs, shows, coaching, and competition. Performer with Cirque du Soleil, Disney On Ice, Holiday On Ice, and Royal Caribbean. The first ever WIFSA Senior Pairs World Champion. Every decision in the frame came from someone who has spent decades testing what actually works on the ice and what does not translate off it.

The opportunity problem

Skaters, coaches, and parents have been growing this sport for decades. Sharing it, teaching it, demonstrating it, building communities around it. Almost none of them have earned anything from the value they create. That is the normal structure of the skating industry and it has never made sense.

ONE Blades is built differently. The Creator Program gives skaters, coaches, and parents a way to earn from the movement they help grow. Commission starts at 10 percent and scales to 25 percent based on lifetime referred revenue. Progression is permanent. No monthly resets. No quotas. Milestone plaques recognise creators as they progress through the tiers.

This is not an influencer program. Creators are skaters first. They skate, coach, perform, and share their honest experience. The economics follow from that.

Innovation is recognised in the same spirit. Skaters who achieve verified world firsts on EDGE are permanently recorded on onebladesrecords.one. The skaters who push the sport forward deserve recognition proportional to what they contribute.

The infrastructure problem

Inline figure skating has never had the platforms other disciplines take for granted. A place for show skating professionals to find work. A global coach directory. An archive of inline skating worldwide. A system for recognising world firsts and records.

ONE Blades built them.

ShowSkating.ONE is a resource library for professional show skaters. CoachFinder.ONE is a global directory connecting skaters with coaches. GlobalInlinePlatform.ONE archives inline skating performance and content from around the world. ONEBladesRecords.ONE permanently records world firsts and records on EDGE.

These were built because the sport needed them. Not because the industry asked for them.

Why it matters

Inline figure skating is a real discipline. It has federations, competitions, test structures, and a global community of skaters who have dedicated years to it. It deserves equipment built specifically for it, economics that reward the people growing it, and systems that treat it as the serious sport it is.

That is what ONE Blades is building.
